چکیده

The use of plant raw materials is one the areas modern pharmaceutical science in production herbal drugs. genus Epilobium counts more than 200 species, many species which are used traditional medicine. Among angustifolium well-known medicinal plants have been worldwide habitual There insufficient information literature on biologically active substances L. presence three major polyphenol groups: phenolic acids, flavonoids, and ellagitannins were identified E. extracts. Traditionally, infusion leaves this could be useful for headaches, cold gastrointestinal disorder. as an insufficiently studied a promising object study, including amino acids composition. To assess relationship between primary metabolites their possible therapeutic properties, we analyzed acid profile study compounds generated by result defense mechanisms permits understanding molecular mechanism involved properties.
aim. Thus, aim was to conduct HPLC analysis establish prospects medical practice. results current will further breeding programs aimed obtain industrial form suitable food applications.
Materials methods. determination composition conducted using Agilent 1200 (Agilent Technologies, USA).
 Results. method sixteen free seventeen bound herb. studies shown that herb mainly composed such L-phenylalanine (1.65 µg/mg), L-glutamic (1.51 L-arginine (1.24 L-alanine (0.98 µg/mg) L-aspartic (0.57 presents greatest amount. dominant material acid, L-leucine, L-alanine, content 32.37 µg/mg, 10.59 8.70 6.22 µg/mg respectively.
Conclusions. Using determined concentrations L-arginine, predominate among shows source so new remedies future

Immunomodulatory activity of oenothein B isolated from Epilobium angustifolium.

Epilobium angustifolium has been traditionally used to treat of a number of diseases; however, not much is known regarding its effect on innate immune cells. In this study, we report that extracts of E. angustifolium activated functional responses in neutrophils and monocyte/macrophages. Activity-guided fractionation, followed by mass spectroscopy and NMR analysis, resulted in the identificatio...

D- and L-amino acids in Antarctic lakes: assessment of a very sensitive HPLC-MS method.

Amino acids represent a fraction of organic matter in marine and freshwater ecosystems, and a source of carbon, nitrogen and energy. L-Amino acids are the most common enantiomers in nature because these chiral forms are used during the biosynthesis of proteins and peptide. To the contrary, the occurrence of D-amino acids is usually linked to the presence of bacteria. We investigated the distrib...

Oenothein B, a Cyclic Dimeric Ellagitannin Isolated from Epilobium angustifolium, Enhances IFNγ Production by Lymphocytes

Oenothein B is a polyphenol isolated from Epilobium angustifolium and other plant sources, which has been reported to exhibit immunomodulatory properties. Oenothein B is known to activate myeloid cells and induce the production of IL-1 and other cytokines. However, its effects on lymphocytes are unknown. In this report, we show that oenothein B stimulated innate lymphocytes, including bovine an...

Performance of 2-Amino Tetraphenyl Porphyrin as Stationary Phase in RP-HPLC of Amino Acids

The search for new stationary phases has been one of the predominant concerns in high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) in order to achieve better resolutions, longer column lives, and reduce the time of analysis. A chromatographic packing for separation of underivatized amino acids (AAs) were prepared by dynamically coating 2-amino tetraphenyl prophyrin (atpp) on a C-18 reversed-pha...

Quantification of thymol content in different extracts of Zataria multiflora by HPLC method

Zataria multiflora Boiss is used in traditional folk remedies as antiseptic, analgesic, carminative, anthelmintic medication. The main components of Z. multiflora are phenolic compounds such as thymol and carvacrol. The aim of this study was developed a simple and rapid method for determination of the thymol in different extracts of Z. multiflora by HPLC method. The dried aerial parts of Z. mul...
